[Nathan's "unicorn" comments had at least warranted a look around the stables. Tear had seen plenty of interesting creatures, but the horses and the winged horses (called "pegasi" or singularly a "pegasus") were somewhat new. It was hard not to like creatures that would willingly trot up and take apples or carrots out of the palm of her hand. (Not that she was spoiling them or anything! She'd only brought a handful of apple slices yesterday - and it wasn't as if she could resist; the animals seemed both charming and intelligent.) Apparently they were riding animals; Tear had never ridden any sort of animal before, not even during her training, but the prospect was somewhat intriguing.

This afternoon, however, she was forgoing apple slices and instead waiting around for Guts. Perhaps she'd learn a thing or two about proper riding form by watching him.]

They move as if they haven't a single care in the world.

Come on, I've been here for two years! In the past two years, have you ever heard of a ghost scaring people off or hurting anyone?

If you've been here for over two years, then why is it that no one ever mention ghosts? Even friendly ghosts...

...I...have to hide most of the time since everyone's afraid of ghosts, you know? If you were going to get exorcised every time you left your room, wouldn't you hide too?

...I suppose I would do something about it, although I'm not sure hiding is the best approach. It doesn't solve the problem.

I... I'm afraid one chance meeting isn't enough to prove your innocence. ...and I don't think it's professional to expect others to fix your reputation for you. "Actions speak louder than words", or so the saying goes - show them that you mean no harm.

Yeah, but every time I show up, someone gets scared. I mean, not even you trust me all that much. Besides, I really don't want to get exorcised again.

It's nothing personal. There are very few people that I trust.

T-though... come to think of it, I wasn't aware there were residents capable of exorcism still living on the island.

There aren't. Not that I know of, anyway, and I'm not about to go looking for any after the last time.

Because I didn't think it was going to happen the first time? Because I don't know everyone around here well enough to know who can hurt me?

I try to stay out of the way, mostly, but I don't want to have to hide every time someone comes around. [He could just never go ghost at all, but he's gotten so accustomed to his powers that he can't just not use them. But he's not going to mention that part.]

Perhaps there's a way to disguise the fact that you're a ghost.

For example, speaking with others in a setting where they wouldn't be able to see you clearly.
