[OOC] Tear Factoid Sheet

Note: For the tl;dr crowd and for quick reference. I know my application is long-winded, and you don't need to know half that stuff anyway. These are the basics for getting to know Tear.

Username Origins:
"Severed Fate" is one of Tear's artes in which she leaps into the air and throws her three daggers down at an opponent to form a triangular field around them, damaging whatever is within that field. The other meaning here is that Tear gets separated from numerous things during the course of the game. She gains a lot, but she also loses a lot. The theme I was going for was "divided". It felt like it fit her situation. severed_fate was taken, so after asking a friend about alternate forms, we decided on a_severed_fate.

GENERAL:
+ She's 16 in-game. At the game's end she is 19, which is when ME's Tear was grabbed from. (Age 20 is considered an adult on Auldrant.)
+ Appearance: Long brown hair (her bangs cover her right eye), blue eyes. Busty (we estimate a size D). An interview described her as "plain" (her clothes, basically). Her uniform includes high heeled boots. She generally keeps her knives on her at all times.
+ She's a descendant of Yulia Jue, a Seventh Fonist who developed the Grand Fonic Hymn as well as (at least helping with) a bunch of other things: the Key of Lorelei, the Seven Fonstones, the Passage Rings/Sephiroth.
+ She's a member of the Fende family.
+ Her mother (pregnant with Tear) and her brother, Van, survived Hod's collapse. She grew up beneath the surface (or Outer Lands) in a place called the Qliphoth.

WEAKNESSES:
1. Adores and secretly fangirls over cute things.
2. Afraid of ghosts and totally wimps out when they are mentioned/present.
3. Gets embarrassed when her body becomes a topic of conversation.
(Note: As such, she dresses modestly and does not flirt/flaunt.)
4. [ME!verse: 10/2009] She gets drunk easily. Too easily. She won't go near the stuff again.

Additionally:
+ She jumps in to save civilians, putting herself at risk.
+ She puts up a strong front and doesn't ask for help even when she needs it.
+ Luke. (Seriously. He is a weakness.)
+ Van.

PERSONALITY:
+ Has been described as "naggy". Often scolds Luke for being an idiot or for tormenting the mascot character.
+ She's smart. She does a lot of explaining.
+ She's blunt. Luke once told her that her attempt to cheer him up only made it hurt worse.
+ As a soldier she often comes across as insensitive and tries to hide her emotions and her feminine side.
+ She cautious and rarely jumps to conclusions. She's slow to trust and slow to be convinced. When her brother is concerned, she does get reckless.

COOKING/FOOD:
+ Favorite foods are apples and milk.
+ Dislikes carrots.
+ She is a good cook (after Guy and Anise). In the game she is teased for her domestic skills and claims to have learned to cook from Van.

FIGHTING/COMBAT:
+ She is a member of the intelligence division of the Oracle Knights.
+ Her class is "melodist". Some of her artes (spells) are performed by singing. She is also a "seventh fonist" (uses the sound fonon (ie. element)).
+ Her weapons are 3 throwing knives and a staff. The knives are for medium/long distance attacks. [Anime] The staff is used close range/for physically striking opponents. [Game] The staff puts out fonons and rarely comes into direct contact with a foe.
+ She can fight close-range, cast magic, or offer healing/support to the group; she works better casting from a distance, however, and it's been noted that she's slow. (In the anime this does not seem to be the case, and she fights melee just fine.)
+ She has a little (some?) experience with swords.
+ When near another seventh fonist (or a replica), a hyperressonance can occur between them (ie. this occurs in the beginning of the game with Luke).

RELATIONSHIPS:
(Note: These are from the game/anime, NOT Memento Eden.)
+ Van: Her dear older brother. She sees him as a father figure and loves him deeply. She follows him into the Oracle Knights because of a promise she made to him when she was five years old. After finding out what terrible things he's planning, she takes it upon herself to stop him. Because she's his only living blood relative, she sees this as her responsibility.
+ Legretta: Tear's instructor whom she greatly admires. Tear seems to have picked up Legretta's silent, serious, and oft harsh personality.
+ Cantabile: An Oracle Knights instructor in Daath, she also had a hand in polishing Tear's fighting abilities. Apparently she and Van do not see eye-to-eye and she was initially quite critical of Tear as a result.
+ Teodoro: Tear's adopted grandfather and the governor of Yulia City. He keeps her in check, but they really don't seem all that close for what it's worth.
+ Luke: The person she loves. It all begins simply as being responsible for escorting him back home; since he's a civilian, protecting him is her job (ie. "babysitter/bodyguard mode"). After a certain incident, Luke asks Tear to watch him change for the better. I think she sees him as a child initially, then witnessing that he accomplishes what he sets out to do, Tear's faith in him grows. After mutual trust is reached, they quit bickering as much. She lets Luke make his own decisions, even though she lets him know she doesn't agree with them. At the end she tells him to come home and that she'll always be waiting for him.
+ Guy: I'd say the two of them make up the mature portion of the group. Not a lot else to say.
+ Natalia: In the anime at least, Tear saves Natalia several times. The two have their moments of female bonding, usually if it's something to do with Luke and/or Asch.
+ Ion: Ion claims to really like Tear's fonic hymns, admitting they feel "nostalgic". She seems to have a certain level of respect for him, seeing as he's her superior in the Order of Lorelei, and speaks to him politely. Vague spoilers for the end: Ion saves her life and she never forgets that.
+ Mieu: She fangirls him and thinks he's utterly adorable. She also yells at Luke when he starts abusing the poor cheagle.
