You don't want to go back? It might be convenient to stay here and forget about everything that's happened, but I don't think that choice should be made available to us. It feels like an excuse to run away.
Things on this island certainly do move at a more leisurely place. It's nice, but... I have responsibilities. I can't just abandon those forever, even if I wanted to.
