I don't think I've remembered everything there is to know about my childhood, but it's enough for me to understand who I am - not what I've done, necessarily, or what I am, but how I came to think and feel the way I do now.
I can understand my actions. It's complicated... there are so many emotions that can clash with one another. Caring about someone... being afraid of what that person might try to do and who that might hurt... trying to take the course of action that's right.
It might be the opposite for me. I can remember some of my artes, but not why I can use them. Even knowing I'm a seventh fonist, it doesn't explain much about the nature of the artes themselves or how singing the right melody can have an affect on other living things.
A person's values and emotions will often lead to action. If you can sort out your feelings now, or remember how you felt back then, it might give you some indication as to why you behaved the way you did.
((OOC: No, I can't imagine how someone like Tear who hides her feelings 80% of the time could say something like this. XD))
