True; I didn't consider that. I didn't hear or read much about Valentine's Day being associated with marriage, so I made an unfounded assumption. I really thought we'd be getting something more benign...

Date: 2010-02-09 01:51 am (UTC)Perhaps. Unfortunately it makes things awkward. This was a person I considered a friend, and I was fine with that. This, however... I don't know. It throws a wrench in things.
I did a little research, but not a great deal. We don't celebrate it on Auldrant, so I've never participated in it firsthand. I was only saying that they seem similar - Valentine's Day may be more about dating than marriage, but dating does sometimes lead to marriage. I don't know much about it.
I thought so, too.
