[Hymn #70] ~Rapide~ [Movement]

[Nathan's "unicorn" comments had at least warranted a look around the stables. Tear had seen plenty of interesting creatures, but the horses and the winged horses (called "pegasi" or singularly a "pegasus") were somewhat new. It was hard not to like creatures that would willingly trot up and take apples or carrots out of the palm of her hand. (Not that she was spoiling them or anything! She'd only brought a handful of apple slices yesterday - and it wasn't as if she could resist; the animals seemed both charming and intelligent.) Apparently they were riding animals; Tear had never ridden any sort of animal before, not even during her training, but the prospect was somewhat intriguing.
This afternoon, however, she was forgoing apple slices and instead waiting around for Guts. Perhaps she'd learn a thing or two about proper riding form by watching him.]
They move as if they haven't a single care in the world.
((OOC: This will use up 1% on Tataroo Valley part deux, leaving 1% left and 34% total used.))

Date: 2010-04-24 11:35 pm (UTC)[Guts had come quietly up beside her, eyes on the small herd and a halter held negligently in his good hand.]
Been making friends?

Date: 2010-04-25 12:17 am (UTC)[Glance. Notes the halter.]
[Was she being that obvious? fff.]
...n-not particularly.

Date: 2010-04-25 12:24 am (UTC)He hesitates, then looks back at Tear a little abashedly]
...don't suppose you brought any apples or anything? I forgot.

Date: 2010-04-25 03:31 am (UTC)[Guts starts off towards one of the biggest horses in the paddock at a measured pace, then glances back at Tear.]
...coming?
no subject
Date: 2010-04-25 02:04 pm (UTC)[Watches for a moment, then realizes she's meant to follow.]
Yes, of course.
[Good thing she's wearing pants today. She scales the fence to the other side and makes her way across the field at a moderate pace - she doesn't want to scare them, certainly, but keeping others waiting is rude.]

Date: 2010-04-25 05:39 pm (UTC)[Guts waits for her to catch up before resuming his careful walk towards the rather battered-looking gelding, ignoring the headache starting to build between his eyes. Any time the horse looks at their approach and begins to shift, he stops, waiting until it settles again before continuing.
When they finally get into range Guts moves quickly, looping the lead attached to the halter around the horse's neck and holding it as the animal dances a bit in surprised protest.]
Easy, boy. I'm not gonna hurt you.
[He slips the halter over the horse's muzzle and does it up, rewarding his new mount with a hearty scratch behind the ears before turning to shrug at Tear.]
Well, that was easy.

Date: 2010-04-25 06:41 pm (UTC)If that's the case, I suppose it makes sense. Nobody likes working for free, after all.
[Tear tries to time her own pace to Guts' so she doesn't fall too far behind or venture ahead of him. The horse he's going after seems fairly large, and she can't remember any encounters with large animals that weren't monsters she was in the process of defeating. She'll be hanging back just a little as they get even closer.
She watches the events unfold with cautious interest before Guts finally has the animal restrained.]
Yes, but I imagine the rest of the process is rather more difficult, isn't it? How are you going to get up there without him taking off?
no subject
Date: 2010-04-25 07:17 pm (UTC)I could just vault up, but it's easier to take him in and tack him up. Once he has a saddle and bridle on he'll be easier to manage. Though so far he seems pretty docile anyway. Get the gate for me?
[OOC: No worries~ ♥]

Date: 2010-04-25 10:06 am (UTC)Yeah, well, they don't have to worry about homework or anything like that. That'd probably explain it.

Date: 2010-04-25 10:38 pm (UTC)I don't make a profession out of haunting, nor do I sneak up on people and scare them out of their wits. It's disgraceful.

Date: 2010-04-25 06:32 pm (UTC)I only started coming here at all about a week ago. Someone mentioned the animals, so I thought it might be worth investigating.
Are those for the horses?
